With this visa you can work up to 30 hours per week, as long as the study program is official or recognized in Spain (such as those offered by universities or vocational training centers). On the other hand, in the case of non-regulated studies (for example, in private academies), the student authorization does not include a work permit.

Can I bring my family with my Student Visa?

Yes, your spouse, partner and dependent children can come as accompanying persons. However, the conditions may vary depending on where the stay is requested (Spain or country of origin) and the type of study (regulated or official).

Is it possible to apply while in Spain?

Yes, the application can be made either at the consulate of the country of origin or residence or within Spain. In the latter case, it must be submitted within 30 calendar days of entry into Schengen territory.

How soon will I get an answer?

The usual resolution period is up to 3 months, although it may vary depending on the workload of the consulate or the immigration office where it is being processed.

How much money should I credit?

For individual applications, 100% of the annual IPREM must be demonstrated. If you are traveling with family members, you must prove an additional 75% for the first companion and 50% for each subsequent companion.

Can the Student Visa be renewed?

Yes, it can be renewed as long as the conditions of the initial study program are maintained. The application must be submitted between 60 days before and 90 days after the expiration of the current permit.

Can I change my stay to a work residence?

Yes, once you have completed your studies, you can change your status to work residence (employed or self-employed) or apply for a residence for job search, all without leaving Spain.
